All around the world, it will be Right to Information Day on 28 September 2017. ODI Australian Network is pleased to partner with the Queensland Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) to recognise this important annual event focussing on open and accountable government, which is one of the desired outcomes for government agencies when they publish open data.
This year, renowned journalist Kerry O’Brien will present the 2017 Solomon lecture. Madonna King will also chair a panel discussion with Mr Kerry O’Brien, Dr David Solomon AM, Professor Peter Coaldrake AO and Ms Alison Sandy from Channel 7.
Marking the 30th anniversary of the Fitzgerald Inquiry, and the subsequent fundamental shift in Queensland’s political landscape and governance, this year’s RTI Day theme is: Open and accountable government and the media’s role.
